Vid Udovc

About Me

I'm Vid Udovč, a student at Gimnazija Bežigrad who will continue into the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme. My long-term goal is to study engineering and entrepreneurship in the United States.

My interest in technology began at the age of four when I received my first IBM computer. I spent countless hours experimenting with Scratch, creating simple animations, and exploring how computers worked. Since then, curiosity has driven me to continuously learn, build, and create.

As I grew older, my interests expanded from software into electronics, engineering, and product development. At eleven, I built a home alarm system, and shortly afterwards I discovered 3D printing. Learning CAD design and assembling my own 3D printer introduced me to the world of manufacturing and prototyping, where I realized how rewarding it is to transform an idea into a physical product.

Alongside engineering, I developed a strong interest in entrepreneurship. At thirteen, I launched my own 3D-printing business and began selling products internationally. Through this experience, I learned not only product design and manufacturing, but also market research, customer communication, logistics, and business operations. Since then, I have grown the business to more than 1,300 sales worldwide.

Outside of engineering and entrepreneurship, I enjoy swimming and language learning. I regularly train swimming and have a strong interest in languages, particularly English and Spanish. Learning languages has allowed me to connect with people from different cultures and broaden my perspective beyond technology.

I also enjoy volunteering and giving back to my community. I believe that knowledge, creativity, and hard work are most valuable when they can be used to help others. Through Naturo Days, I help organize creative outdoor activities that encourage children to explore, build, and learn through hands-on experiences. I also volunteer through Interact, participating in initiatives that raise funds and support charitable organizations helping children and families in need.

Whether through engineering projects, entrepreneurship, volunteering, or personal development, I am motivated by the same idea: using creativity, technology, and practical problem-solving to make a positive impact on the people around me.
